Want to know more about what your local public schools are really like? Attending a school fair or fundraiser is a great way to get a flavor of the school culture and meet current parents.

I just found out about a great school carnival in the panhandle/NOPA (North of Panhandle) area:

There will also be carnival games where kids can play to win prizes! In addition, there will be a Family BBQ, cotton candy, popcorn, a Spin Art Bike and Fender Blender from Fossil Fool, and a Photobooth from Magnolia Photo Booth Co.!

View the flyer and checkout the Carnival on Facebook.

If you live in my neighborhood, Northeastern SF you can check out two local events coming this and next week:

Garfield’s Dragon Fest – Dragon Fest and Not-So-Silent Auctions will be on Friday, April 25, 2014 starting at 6:00PM.  Dragon Fest is Garfield Elementary’s biggest annual fundraiser and community party.  This year, the festivities will take place at the Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center Gymnasium, located at 555 Chestnut Street.  The evening is always filled with fun for the whole family, including children’s carnival games & prizes and face painting; student performances; both silent and live auctions; food and beverages; and more!  Admission is free!

Jean Parker’s Honeybee Jamboree – Join us for family fun at Jean Parker Elementary School! Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. There will be bouncers, food & drinks, face-painting, games & prizes, raffles, auctions and even a white-elephant sale.
