Tomorrow! Tiny Teach In: Families Reclaim MLK Day

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of talking about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday as just another “day off of school”. This year, more than ever, I believe it’s important to reclaim this important holiday, and make it a day of social justice and action.

Join me and other like-minded SF parents to share the true legacy of Dr. King tomorrow, Monday January 19 at the African-American Arts and Culture Complex. Let’s talk about ways we can support each other in taking action to create social change in our schools, neighborhoods and city!

Tiny Teach In: Families Reclaim MLK Day

Do you want to support the Black Lives Matter movement, and work for racial equity in San Francisco, while juggling nap time and kids’ activities? You’re not alone.

Children will read books about race, difference, & civil rights and have age appropriate conversations. Parents will discuss ways we can work together for racial equity in San Francisco. Event planned for ages 1-10, all are welcome.

The African American Art & Culture Complex will have Playworks and volunteer opportunities on site starting at 9am. Feel free to come early, and please bring nut-free snacks to share!

Thanks to the *Colorful Mamas of the 99%, the African American Art & Culture Complex, and Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco for your contributions to this event!
